Oleksandr Zaslavskyy on the amendments to the Constitution proposed by the current government

The Constitution of Ukraine was adopted 24 years ago, on June 28, 1996. Since then, every president has been trying to change it – to improve it for citizens or for themselves?

The sixth president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is no exception. On the contrary, he submitted the largest draft laws on amendments to the Constitution among all Ukrainian presidents.

This is confirmed by a study conducted by the Agency about the first year of Volodymyr Zelensky’s presidency.

Some of the president’s initiatives have already been accepted the Verkhovna Rada.

What is right – to constantly change the Constitution? And can this be a risk for the state?

Oleksandr Zaslavskyy, Director of the Analytical Department of the Agency for Legislative Initiatives, helped to understand the nuances for Channel 24.

“They (draft laws, -– Agency) can be described as unsystematic. These are the draft laws that were drafted quite closed, which affected their legal quality”, – commented Oleksandr Zaslavskyy on the president’s proposed amendments to the Constitution.
